Although our cold-pressed juices are delicious on their own, they are also extremely versatile and can be used in all sorts of other recipes. Think: popsicles, smoothies, dressing & even soups! We’ve put together some of our favorite ways to use our juices & shots below. We’d love for you to try some out and tell us what you think!
Popsicles
Want healthy, fruit- and veggie-forward, no-sugar-added popsicles? All of our juices can be used as the base of a popsicle, but our sweeter ones work best. Our personal favorites for popsicles include: Watermelon Berry (watermelon, strawberry, lime), Tropical Limeade (watermelon, pineapple, papaya) & Rooted Orange (carrot, orange, lemon).
Simply shake the juice bottle (don't skip this step!) and then pour into popsicle mold. Add a popsicle stick and then freeze until solid.
Note: If you don’t have a popsicle mold, another thing you could do is to freeze the juices in an ice tray until solid, and then process in a blender to make a refreshing slushie!
Smoothies & Slushies
If you want to spice up your Thistle juice and make it extra special, consider turning it into a smoothie. Our favorite combinations include:
- Balanced Beet Berry Smoothie: 1 bottle Balanced Beet (beet, cucumber, apple), 1 cup mixed berries, 1/2 cup coconut yogurt
- Hearty Greens Smoothie: 1 bottle Hearty Greens (kale, apple, spinach), 1 cup frozen banana, 2 tbsp hemp seeds, 2 tbsp almond butter, 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Rooted Orange Creamsicle Smoothie: 1 bottle Rooted Orange (carrot, orange, lemon), 1 cup coconut milk/cream, 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
Alternatively, you can make your own Thistle juice smoothie variation using using one of our juices as a base. Combine your favorite bottle of cold-pressed juice, ice, frozen fruit of choice, yogurt, and/or nut butter and blend until fully combined.
Note: If you froze one of our juices in an ice tray, add the cubes into your smoothie instead of the juice for a thicker smoothie!
Meals
Didn't think that juices could be used in meals? Think again. Consider:
- Using Intense Greens or Hearty Greens in place of vegetable broth in your favorite vegetable soup or green curry
- Our Fight shot, made with lemon & ginger, is delicious mixed into your favorite sauce or curry dish for an extra pop of flavor!
Dressings & Sauces
For an antioxidant-packed dressing, use our Glow shot to make a turmeric-black pepper-tahini dressing:
- 1 Glow shot (lemon & turmeric)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup smooth tahini
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
Whisk together tahini, olive oil, salt and pepper. Whisk in the Glow shot until smooth. Dressing can be made 4 days ahead. Cover and chill. Makes about 1/2 cup of dressing.
Serve with your favorite roasted veggies or drizzle as a sauce over a grain bowl.
Or, consider making a tangy Boost vinaigrette dijon mustard and olive oil:
- 1 Boost shot (orange, ginger)
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
Combine all of the ingredients in a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake until fully emulsified. Dressing can be made a week ahead of time. Cover and chill, but then bring back to room temperature before serving as the olive oil will solidify. Makes about 1/2 cup of dressing.
Delicious served alongside any salad that with fruit, nuts/seeds, cheese and fresh greens!
Non-Alcoholic Drinks
For a refreshing afternoon spritzer, try mixing 1 Boost shot with 1 cup sparkling water.
For something warm & comforting, mix 1 Fight shot in 1 cup hot water and sip away.
For an added nutritional boost and flavor punch to any drink, add 1 Glow shot into any of our other juices or in a smoothie!
Thistle Juice Cocktails
Even though the days of the week may be blurring together, you can still wind down your week with some delicious Thistle juice cocktails.
- Spicy Citrus (orange, lemon, apple): combine with whiskey for a whiskey sour
- Refreshing Greens (kale, cucumber, pineapple): combine with fresh lime juice and gin for a gimlet
- Watermelon Berry (watermelon, strawberry, lime): combine with tequila & triple sec for a margarita
